Opportunities and challenges for Corbyn’s Labour

Brexit Britain is on a knife-edge. On the one-hand, racist attacks have gone up, and we have seen the biggest Nazi demonstration in living memory. The economy is in freefall, as the clueless Tory government struggles to manage a deepening crisis. At the same time, the “Corbyn effect” in energising Britain. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn promises to bring radical change, and despite a concerted press campaign to discredit him, he is more popular than ever. Labour has trebled its membership and is now the largest political party in Europe. A mass movement has developed behind Corbyn, but how will Brexit affect what Labour can do in office? Could Brexit be prevented? If it can, would this further alienate people who voted for Brexit because they feel ignored by politicians? Would Labour’s election promises be helped or hindered by EU membership? Is Another Europe possible without the EU?
