Der Beschluss der Fraktion ist auf höchst undemokratische Weise zu Stande gekommen. Obwohl mindestens die Hälfte der anwesenden MdBs in der Diskussion Kritik am Verfahren geäußert hatte wurde eine Drohkulisse aufgebaut, die die Einheit der Partei in Frage stellte. Der Beschluss zielt m. E. nicht auf eine Klärung in der Antisemtismusfrage oder der Nahostpolitik, sondern auf die Unterwerfung der LINKEN, insbesondere ihres linken Flügels, unter die Attacken der Kriegsparteien. Einige fühlten sich an SED-Parteitage erinnert, andere an Unvereinbarkeitsbeschlüsse.
Der Beschluss ist eine Reaktion auf die aktuelle Stunde in der vergangenen Sitzungswoche. Hier hatten die anderen Parteien versucht, uns in die Defensive zu bringen. Die Debatte wurde mit einer Fälschung von Dr. Hans-Peter Uhl (CDU/CSU) eingeleitet, von unglaublichen Anwürfen begleitet und endete mit der Aufforderung Inge Höger aus der Fraktion auszuschließen. Auf diese Angriffe hätte ich von der Fraktion eine Reaktion erwartet, die dies zurückweist, wie es auch Luc Jochimsen in ihrer Rede getan hat. Dies habe ich auch in der Fraktionsdebatte am Dienstag gesagt.

Am 17. und 18. Mai nahm Andrej Hunko an einer Vorab-Delegation der Parlamentarischen Versammlung des Europarates zur Wahlbeobachtung der Parlamentswahlen in der Türkei am 12. Juni teil. Folgende Erklärung haben die Teilnehmer/innen veröffentlicht:

Eine vierköpfige parteienübergreifende Delegation der Parlamentarischen Versammlung des Europarates (ER PV) hat nach einem Besuch im Vorfeld der am 12. Juni stattfindenden Parlamentswahlen in der Türkei die seit den Parlamentswahlen im Jahre 2007 in der Türkei erzielten soliden wirtschaftlichen Fortschritte begrüßt.
„Es gibt eine lebendige Zivilgesellschaft im Lande, und als begrüßenswerte Entwicklung ist festzustellen, dass - nachdem den Medien gestattet wurde, auch in anderen Sprachen als nur Türkisch zu arbeiten – der Wahlkampf nun auch in diesen Sprachen geführt werden kann. Der Oberste Wahlrat (SBE) arbeitet effizient und transparent und wie es scheint in im Einklang mit den bestehenden Gesetzen. Einige seit dem Jahre 2007 verabschiedete Gesetzesänderungen – auch wenn noch unvollständig - haben den Weg für einen besseren und transparenteren Wahlprozess bereitet.
Declaration of the Working Group “International Politics” of the Parliamentary Group of the party DIE LINKE in the German Parliament (Bundestag):
We support the right of the Basque “Abertzale” Left to create a legal framework for its political activities and to participate in the elections on 22 May this year. We therefore welcome the ruling by the Spanish Constitutional Court overturning the judgement by the Supreme Court and allowing the cross-party Basque electoral alliance Bildu to field candidates at the elections. This means that, for the first time in years, the position of the left-wing independence movement will be represented at the elections. In order to allow a peace process, however, the Sortu party must also be legalised.
Since the end of the 1990s, Spain has banned a large number of political, civil-society and even media organisations in the Basque Country, using the excuse that they were subordinate parts of the ETA underground movement. As the legislative framework did not contain adequate provisions to allow such bans, the Spanish Parliament adopted a specially drafted law on political parties in 2002. The law dictates to the parties what political positions they may take.
The Sortu party, formed in January, adheres to the provisions of the law on political parties. Whilst other parties of the Abertzale Left have placed ETA’s violence in the context of the conflict and expressed their regret, Sortu condemns ETA’s violence in a one-sided fashion. Yet, in order to outlaw the party, attempts are being made to present it as part of an ETA strategy.
We reject the use of terrorism for political ends and condemn ETA’s terrorism. At the same time, we condemn the Spanish state’s use of repression and torture, which has been observed, amongst others, by the Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT). Both must be ended to finally allow a peaceful political resolution of this decades-old conflict.
ETA’s declaration of a unilateral and permanent ceasefire in January of this year represents a first step in this direction. Legalisation of Sortu would represent a further step. In order to bring a lasting end to violence, a peaceful and democratic resolution of the conflict, achieved through a process of negotiation, is needed. This means that a legal framework for the political participation of the Abertzale Left is vital.

Declaración del Grupo de Trabajo „Política Internacional“ de la fracción parlamentaria del partido DIE LINKE en el Parlamento Alemán (Bundestag):
Defendemos el derecho de la izquierda abertzale vasca a crear un marco legal para sus actividades políticas y a participar en las elecciones del próximo 22 de mayo. En consecuencia, nos felicitamos de la sentencia del Tribunal Constitucional español por la que se declara la nulidad de la sentencia de la Sala Especial del Tribunal Supremo y se autoriza a la coalición electoral Bildu a concurrir en las elecciones. Ello permite que por primera vez desde hace años esté representada en las elecciones la posición del movimiento independentista de izquierda. Sin embargo, para posibilitar un proceso de paz es necesario, asimismo, que sea legalizado el partido Sortu.
